We had a small celebration for completing our book. Our "test" was a game in which I made up questions that were Snowflake Bentley related, or for the younger kids, snow/winter related. Here is a sample of some of the questions-- Saved Snowballs from last week--
Vermont "Snowballs"--
"Bentley's Blue Ice"--
We really enjoyed this book. Some topics explored were: grasshoppers, butterflies, and Vermont. It is hard to believe that a simple picture book can lead to so many topics. We also have a new interest in microscopes.
Still more art! We saw that the author had different ways of drawing the sun. We tried several of the different sun pictures. Most kids draw the typical sun with a circle and rays-sort of like a spider. Hopefully, this will inspire us to branch out a little.
