Snowflake Bentley
Here is our book for the week/weeks:
Besides snow, we have studied Vermont, butterflies, and woodcut art. We have some other topics planned-crystals, grasshoppers, the history of snow sports and some other fun things!

Letters from Big Sister
The kids received letters from B. She even took the time to decorate the envelopes! The other neat thing about this is that we had just finished Sarah, Plain and Tall. In the book, Sarah decorated one of her envelopes with a cat drawing. I don't think that B knew about this--how cool is that!?!?

Prairie Supper
We wrapped up our study of Sarah, Plain and Tall by watching the movie and having a prairie supper. We had Caleb's Stew (with cornbread) courtesy of our Five in a Row cookbook. Also pictured is the prairie house.

Lions and Tigers and Bears
The kids like to make zoos and habitats. This was not a school project, but they were learning.
"Traveling the World"
We make flags of the countries that we study. We also place a Five in a Row story disk on the countries in which each story takes place.
The B is placed on Germany. This is where big sister (B) is currently living.
