Ping Party

This is our first official "row" of the new school year. Some of the foods we enjoyed were: egg rolls, chicken fried rice, panda bear gummies, vegetables, Ping's "rice cakes", and pineapples. I am sorry to say that the food was not made from scratch. Along with our food and conversation, we enjoyed a "window view" of Ping on the Yangtze River :)

The best scenery from our trip

Baby Judah

Learning geography

We've read about places in various lessons, but it really made a difference being able to see and drive through some of them. The salt dough maps took on a whole new meaning as well--especially Kansas (I thought of Climbing Kansas Mountains from Five in a Row) as well as the Rocky Mountains!

I got a boost of inspiration for this new school year--much needed!

I know we, as well as most, can't make a habit of traveling, but it would really enhance geography lessons!

Road pictures

The sign on the above picture may be hard to read, but I got a kick out of driving by an amazon.com warehouse (which I know a lot of homeschool moms would).
