Albert, lessons from a picture book

I love this one

Sometimes, I think I am like Albert--

"Albert looked at the grass and the trees and the sky. He listened to laughter nearby, a GOOD noise, and the siren of an ambulance far off, a BAD noise. And Albert knew now that BOTH were part of this big, wonderful world. He put his face up to the grillwork and felt the wind and the sun on his cheeks. "Just right," he said.

Grapevine Swing

Swinging in the grapevine swing,
Laughing where the wild birds sing,
I dream and sigh
For the days gone by,
Swinging in the grapevine swing.

The Grapevine Swing  by Samuel Minturn Peck

I found this poem the other day, so I had to do another swing video!

This Week

We rowed Owl Moon and watched the video.

Started talking about nakes

and a few that we may encounter and AVOID in our neck of the woods (namely, the land). Of course, we had to learn....Red touch yellow (Coral snake) kill a fellow, red touch black (King snake) all right for Jack. This will probably never be necessary, but it was fun learning which snake of the two was venomous. I really would be fine if we never run into any snakes though!
